29 ha farm between Platanillo and San Juan de Dios

Herewith some photos of EALA's new reserve near Platanillo, at 14 km from Dominical in the south of Costa Rica at the Pacific Ocean.

In June 2019 we will start a reforestation program with the help of our forest engineer Daniel Jenkin and COOPEAGRI with whom we have signed a contract for planting this year up to 3000 native hard wood trees. COOPEAGRI represents FONAFIFO of the Ministry of Environment who manage the program Pago Servicios Ambientales. Apart from planting the trees, we have also signed a long-term contract for the protection and conservation of the 6 hectares forested area of the finca.

We are starting a nursery in Platanillo - VIVERO LA CEIBA - for various species of native trees to be planted with the view to bring back the original forest cover and fauna. Species are: cedro amargo, manglillo, espabel, gabilan, guachepelin, corteza amarilla, etc. and fruit trees such as marañon (cashew nut) For more info about this project, write or call at the adresses provided. For the Vivero call Sergio Mena at 8852 9732.
